'Know Better' is the thrashing new one from New Jersey's Forth Wanderers. Having announced themselves as one of the latest members of the lo-fi, bedroom rock scene to be swelling out of the US at the moment, this cut continues to prove their worth, as laid-back, grunge-leaning guitars provide the bed for singer Ava Trilling's brilliantly conversational, languid vocal work; "I can't be this naive any more" she mourns with a something of a knowing wink. Their Slop EP is out 11 November and will be co-released between House Anxiety / Marathon Artists and Father/Daughter Records, who have between them, introduced the world to Courtney Barnett, King Krule, Diet Cig and Mutual Benefit. Good company indeed and Forth Wanderers are well worth mentioning in the same breath. -G.O'B
